Description As a Quality Advisor, you will play a key role in reviewing and interpreting laboratory and field testing results, ensuring asphalt mixes and completed works meet strict project and client specifications. Based in Downer's offices in Maddington, you will work closely with site teams and laboratory personnel, you will analyse material performance, identify any non-conformances, and translate testing outcomes into accurate project documentation client submission. This role suits someone with a strong background in materials or laboratory testing who enjoys problem-solving and improving quality outcomes across civil projects. Key Responsibilities Review and analyse laboratory and material testing results (including asphalt and bitumen samples) to ensure compliance with project specifications. Interpret testing data and transfer outcomes into project work packs for submission to clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness of quality documentation. Monitor test results and promptly escalate any non-conforming mixes or materials to site teams, supporting timely corrective action. Analyse field results from completed works, to assess quality, performance, and adherence to specifications. Investigate variances in results, identify root causes of quality issues, and support the implementation of corrective and preventative actions. Support quality assurance processes by ensuring all documentation, records, and submissions are compliant and up to date in project systems. Collaborate closely with site crews, laboratory teams, and project stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in quality outcomes. Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management systems and promote best practice across asphalt surfacing projects. About You Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Materials Testing, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience). Experience in laboratory, materials testing, or asphalt production environments, with a strong understanding of test methods and reporting. Experience working with asphalt, bitumen, or civil materials testing (highly regarded). Ability to interpret and analyse technical data, identify trends, and translate results into clear, actionable insights. Strong attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy in reviewing test results, documentation, and quality records. Understanding of quality assurance processes and the ability to identify non-conformances and support corrective actions. Ability to investigate issues, determine root causes, and contribute to continuous improvement of quality outcomes. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise daily data collation, reporting, and submissions. Confident communicator, able to liaise with laboratory teams, site crews, and project stakeholders regarding quality results and issues.
