14th May, 2026 Our client is a well-established engineering consultancy providing engineering and EPCM solutions to the mining and resources sector across WA and Australia. Based in Perth CBD, the business has a strong and growing team comprising Mechanical, Structural and Civil Engineers, along with Drafting and 3D Scanning professionals. With a strong focus on innovation and technology, they have built a reputation as one of Perth's fastest-growing engineering consultancies. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking an experienced SMP Designer to join their team. The Role This role will see you working across a range of mining and resource projects, predominantly focused on Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) design. You will be involved in 3D modelling, detailed design and drafting work across bulk materials handling, processing plant and associated infrastructure projects. Working closely with engineers and other designers, you will contribute to project delivery while also supporting junior team members where required. About You To be successful in the role, you will ideally possess: Previous SMP design experience within the mining/resources sector Strong 3D modelling and drafting capability Experience using software such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures or similar Good technical understanding of mining/process plant environments Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit project team Motivation to grow your career within a fast-paced consultancy environment What's on Offer The company can offer either a long-term contract or permanent position, with salary highly negotiable depending on experience.
