What’s on offer? We are seeking a dedicated Production and Distribution Scheduler to join our team in Lara. Reporting to the Site Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating daily production and distribution schedules, supervising mill operations, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong planning capability, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with production, maintenance, and logistics teams to achieve optimal plant performance and customer outcomes. Key responsibilities include: Complying with all relevant OHS/WHS legislation and promoting a strong safety culture Leading and participating in safety, quality, and environmental initiatives Preparing and managing daily mill production schedules and transport plans Coordinating with transport and site teams to optimise production and delivery outcomes Monitoring finished feed weights and ensuring quality standards are met Conducting batch reconciliations to ensure accurate traceability Supporting and maintaining HACCP and FeedSafe accreditation requirements Monitoring plant performance (OEE% and throughput) and identifying improvement opportunities Preparing reports, analysing production data, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives Supervising mill staff to ensure compliance with SOPs, training, and PPE requirements Participating in performance reviews, KPI setting, and employee development Assisting with site audits and ensuring timely close-out of actions Managing site formulations in line with company timelines Maintaining accurate inventory practices and reporting discrepancies Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders and escalating issues when required Measures and authority: Maintain effective communication across production, maintenance, and site teams Participate in stocktakes and monitor raw material usage Delegate tasks to competent staff and support workforce training Ensure safe work practices for employees, contractors, and visitors Participate in shift work, including weekends and overtime as required Key skills and attributes: Strong understanding of manufacturing planning and scheduling processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (MS Dynamics AX preferred) Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills High attention to detail and strong analytical capability Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Sound knowledge of OH&S and environmental legislation Ability to engage with stakeholders across all levels of the business Qualifications and experience: Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing or production planning environment Experience in detailed production scheduling within a feed or similar industry (Desirable) How to apply If you are a motivated and reliable individual and meet the qualifications outlined above, please click ‘apply for this job’ and submit your resume and cover letter.
