Facility Coordinator Vic, Melbourne Facilities 19206BR Job Highlights As the first point of contact for facility operations, the Facility Coordinator is responsible for the effective day-to-day coordination and maintenance of the Lockheed Martin Australia (LMA) Melbourne offices. This role oversees the overall management and operation of facilities, including maintenance activities delivered through subcontractor and vendor agreements. This position is being offered as a 6-month maternity leave cover , with the possibility of extension depending on business requirements. The Facility Coordinator will support the corrective maintenance program, including building and plant repairs or replacements, and will plan, schedule, and implement preventative maintenance in collaboration with the LMA Maintenance Lead. The role also involves monitoring vendor and subcontractor performance to ensure work meets required specifications and standards, recommending corrective actions where necessary, and ensuring all escorting requirements are fulfilled in accordance with LMA protocols. This role offers flexible working arrangements, including the option of a 9-day fortnight or a 4-day compressed work week , subject to operational needs and agreement. Your responsibilities will include: Act as the first point of contact for all facility-related requests and issues, ensuring timely responses through the LMBuildings system. Coordinate and oversee contractors, including inductions, supervision, and work in both classified and unclassified areas. Manage day-to-day facilities operations such as maintenance, office and kitchen supplies, waste disposal, and janitorial services. Conduct regular site inspections and support both corrective and preventative maintenance across buildings, plant, and equipment. Liaise with Procurement, ESH, Security, and other internal teams to support safe, compliant, and efficient site operations. Maintain accurate facilities documentation, including maintenance records, cost tracking, and contractor invoices. Support space planning, site communications. Assist with internal and external events, mail and courier management, and general facilities administration as required. About you: Solid understanding of Facility Management principles and processes. Well presented with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service focus with a proactive approach to service delivery. Hands-on experience coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance works. Demonstrated experience using Maintenance Management Systems. Proven ability to manage day-to-day contractors and trades effectively. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks. High attention to detail and pride in maintaining professional, well-presented workspaces. Open, positive attitude and adaptable to changing priorities. A current driver’s licence is required , as the role will involve travel between the Melbourne office and the Avalon site as needed. As well as the above any experience in the following is highly desirable: Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation and codes. Understanding of property management and leasing processes. Experience working within the Defence industry or a secure facility environment.
