Position: Retail Bakery Manager Position Type : Full-Time Salary: $75,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation per annum Location: Turrella NSW 2205 The Company Crispy Bakehouse is a specialist artisan bakery located in Turrella, NSW. We produce a comprehensive range of handcrafted breads, pastries, and sweet delights made entirely from scratch using traditional techniques and quality ingredients. Our bakehouse features a dedicated retail front where customers purchase fresh artisan products directly in retail quantities. We focus on organic, specialty, and high-end baked goods, and our products are handmade by a team of highly skilled bakers. The role We are seeking an experienced Bakery Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our retail front. You will lead the retail team, manage customer service, product presentation, and sales operations, and ensure our store environment reflects the artisan craft and quality of our specialty products. The candidate will be responsible for the following duties: ·Manage the daily operations of the bakery retail front, including store opening and closing procedures ·Oversee retail sales, customer service, and product presentation of artisan breads, specialty pastries, and sweet delights to maximise sales and minimise waste ·Lead, train, and roster retail staff, ensuring adequate coverage during trading hours (Mon–Sat) ·Coordinate closely with the Production Manager to ensure fresh artisan product availability, accurate stock levels, and timely replenishment of the retail display ·Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions, daily cash handling, and retail banking reconciliation ·Implement visual merchandising standards and maintain an attractive, clean, and inviting retail environment that showcases our handcrafted products ·Handle customer enquiries, phone and online orders, feedback, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner ·Develop and implement retail sales strategies, promotional activities, and loyalty initiatives for specialty and artisan products ·Monitor retail performance metrics (sales, waste, customer traffic) and provide regular reports to the Director ·Ensure the retail area complies with food safety, hygiene, and local council regulations. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and highly motivated and have the following skills and experience: ·Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field ·Minimum 2 years of experience in retail management within food service, hospitality, or specialist bakery sector ·Demonstrated experience leading a small team in a customer-facing retail or hospitality environment ·Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with a customer-first mindset ·Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) ·Sound knowledge of food handling standards and retail food safety requirements ·Ability to work collaboratively with production and logistics teams to align supply with demand ·Highly organised, reliable, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities ·Flexible availability including weekends and peak trading periods.
