Maurice Blackburn, experience you can count on. About the role We are seeking a Senior Associate to play a key role in supporting the continued growth of our Brisbane West personal injuries practice. This role has a strong focus on increasing matter handling capacity, progressing files efficiently, and supporting strong client outcomes across the region. The role is preferably based in Ipswich, with regular travel required to Browns Plains and Toowoomba. You will work across all three offices, supporting file progression and helping to alleviate existing workload pressures across the region. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, managing a substantial and varied personal injuries practice. You will take ownership of complex matters and progress them efficiently through to resolution, contributing directly to settlement outcomes and overall team performance. In addition, you will provide technical supervision and guidance to other lawyers, supporting consistency, quality and capability across the team while remaining actively engaged in your own file load. You will also contribute to the ongoing growth of the practice through relationship management and business development, including maintaining referral relationships and supporting new client opportunities. This is a role for a senior operator who is comfortable making sound decisions independently, managing competing priorities in a high-volume environment, and delivering results. You will bring your experience in: 10 years’ post-admission experience in personal injuries law, with the ability to independently manage a substantial file load Running matters end-to-end, including strategy, negotiations and settlement of claims Managing competing priorities in a high-volume practice and progressing files efficiently in line with client and business expectations Providing clear, practical legal advice and exercising sound judgment with limited supervision Conducting and leading settlement negotiations to achieve timely and commercially sound outcomes Drafting complex legal documents and correspondence with precision and efficiency Providing technical supervision, guidance and support to other lawyers, maintaining quality and consistency of work across the team Working across Workers’ Compensation, Public Liability and CTP claims Contributing to the growth of the practice through business development and relationship management, including maintaining and building referral networks Flexibility to work across multiple office locations, including regular travel to Browns Plains and Toowoomba If you love what you do, and this is evident in the success of your work, join us in making a difference.
