You’ll be on site, working a 8/6 roster, leading a small metallurgy team of two direct reports while staying right across how the plant is actually performing day to day. This isn’t a role where you’re reviewing numbers from a distance. You’ll be working alongside ops, maintenance and lab teams, dealing with what’s in front of you and keeping things moving. You will also deputise for the processing manager from time to time. If you like being close to the circuit and understanding what’s really going on — this is that kind of role! This will suit you if you like having ownership and being relied on to figure things out. Does the below sound like you? Do you: Like being in the plant and solving problems as they come up Want to lead people but still stay hands-on Thrive when others look to you for solutions when process performance is not optimal Like working with others and facilitating plant improvements and process optimisation Get satisfaction from improving recovery and process stability You’ll be mentoring metallurgists, managing metallurgical accounting, keeping an eye on performance and stepping in when things need attention. Things won’t always run smoothly — you’ll be expected to step in, sort it out, and keep things moving. To step into this role, you’ll need: Gold processing experience is essential Strong understanding of metallurgical accounting and plant performance A problem-solver mindset and ability to get on with it without being told. Unfortunately, MPI are only able to consider people with appropriate and relevant experience, and who are either Australian Permanent Residents or have the necessary permits to work in Australia and whom are currently in Australia.
