About the Company Our client is a leading tier one mechanical services contractor, driving exceptional quality across major commercial and mission-critical construction sectors. With an industry-leading approach, their specialised digital infrastructure division focuses on high-precision engineering for a range of complex commercial, health, defence, data centre and infrastructure projects. Due to growth, they are now seeking an experienced Lead BIM Coordinator to join their team in Canberra and drive model coordination from early design to site delivery. The Role Working in a fast-paced construction environment, the Lead BIM Coordinator will drive the BIM model coordination and review drawings and 3D models. You will act as the key interface between the client, stakeholders and internal drafting teams, ensuring that spatial layout, constructability, and clash resolution are resolved long before site installation begins. This position plays a critical role from initial project phases through to site execution. Key Responsibilities Model Auditing & Review: Review and audit drawings and 3D models from the internal design team. Clash Detection & Analysis: Conduct rigorous clash detection, visual walkthroughs, and early design constructability reviews. Coordination Leadership: Lead weekly coordination meetings with project team members and key stakeholders. Project Support: Verify 3D models, manage project documentation, and develop 4D scheduling simulations as required. Commercial Integration: Maintain constant communication with Project Managers and Construction Managers to keep projects aligned with budgets and delivery expectations. Team Leadership: Mentor, train, and develop junior BIM Modellers, trainees, and apprentices within the team. What You Bring Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar BIM coordination role within a commercial construction environment. Qualifications: Relevant technical drafting or engineering qualifications. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with a proven track record of liaising effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Why Join Us?
