About the Role: Mater Dei College has the opportunity for a full-time, ongoing Mathematics Teacher to become an integral part of the College’s Mathematics Team, commencing Semester 2, 20th July 2026. The Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the Mathematics Learning Area that are inclusive of, but not limited to: Implementing effective teaching strategies to engage and challenge students of varying abilities to achieve specific learning outcomes. Fostering a stimulating, encouraging and inclusive classroom environment designed to support student growth. Delivering engaging Mathematics curriculum, guiding students through key mathematical concepts while developing their problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills in areas such as numeracy, algebra, measurement, statistics, and mathematical reasoning. Programming for classes within the Mathematics Learning Area and thoroughly planning for each lesson. Assessing the performance of students in accordance with College procedures and where required, maintaining contact with parents regarding the performance and wellbeing of students. Meeting the deadlines set by the Head of Learning Area and College Executive. About You: The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism whilst supporting the Catholic ethos and values of the College. You will: Have the ability to teach across all year levels (Years 7–12). Hold a tertiary qualification in Secondary Education, preferably with a specialisation in Mathematics. Have experience teaching Mathematics to high school students. A comprehensive understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum. Be committed to creating engaging, inclusive, and high-quality learning experiences that cater to a range of student abilities. Show strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to collaborate with colleagues. Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. Be dedicated to ongoing professional growth. Actively support and contribute to the co-curricular life of the College.
