This role is ideal for someone with a hands-on approach, experience leading small teams and demonstrated experience and understating of equipment (preferably heavy equipment). This includes occupational and environmental health and safety, yard team management, as well as the general organisation of the yard to ensure the safe and smooth operation in the yard. What you’ll do Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the yard team prioritise workloads to meet operational requirements. Supervise and develop staff to build capability and reach their full potential with respect to job performance and the delivery of exceptional customer service Collaborate with our Midland WA yard team, to provide excellent customer service & alignment on work processes & best practices. Ensure ongoing compliance with all corporate and legislated health and safety and environmental policies, regulations and laws. Schedule casual staff as required to ensure operational needs are met. Ensure equipment is in sale-ready condition and the yard is always kept neat and tidy. Manage the customer experience throughout the Auction site Managing refurbishments, budgets, quality control and suppliers What you bring • Prior experience effectively leading or supervising teams. • Experience with or knowledge of industrial and/or agricultural equipment, trucks and trailers. • Previous cost management experience and business financial knowledge is preferred. • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. • Proficiency using computers, MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel) and digital cameras. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (on this job your most valuable tools will be the 2-way radio, a cell phone and a desk phone). • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy. • Experience working independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. The job will require you to; • Maintain a valid, clean driver’s license. • Work both indoors and outdoors year-round and climb on and off large equipment and trucks. • Because we are an event-driven company, we'll need you to work overtime, including weekend hours, as needed. • Travel to other auction sites if necessary.
