With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Senior Intake/Duty Clinician to join the Merri-bek Community Mental Health team.  Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.   About Mental Health Division:  Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.  Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.  We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.   About us:  The Merri-bek Community Mental Health team is a large, supportive and dynamic team made up of staff that are truly passionate and motivated in supporting consumers and their families/carers.  We provide a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to people who reside in the local government areas of Merri-bek and Hume.  Our team has a long standing reputation for being collegial, supportive and placing value in the individual skills, experience and personal attributes that each member of our team brings.  As part of a large multi-site service including multiple Area Mental Health Services we are able to provide our staff with unique opportunities to develop professionally    About the Role:  NWAMHS â Merri-bek Community Mental Health Team are seeking an experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician (Social Worker, OT, RPN or Psychologist) to join our team in to oversee intake and duty functions within the team.  The Intake/Duty Clinician works Business hours and has rostered duties during this time which could be providing an Intake function to the clinic including triaging any referrals into the clinic.  The Intake/Duty clinician will also have rostered Duty shifts which involves supporting consumers of the clinic, requiring urgent attention, whose treating teams arenât available.  About you:  Strong leadership skills and passionate about supporting and leading others Well developed clinical assessment skills Ability to problem solve in a complex and ever changing environment. Preferably have worked in Community Mental Health with an Area Mental Health Service Willing to be flexible to meet the demands and support needs of those around you.
