Job Type: Full-Time About the Role Celebrity Ink Tattoo, a premier tattoo brand with multiple studios across Australia, is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Illustrator to join our creative team. As our in-house Tattoo Illustrator, you will serve as the crucial link between our clients' imaginations and our artists' execution. You will consult directly with clients to conceptualise, design, and refine custom tattoo artwork across a wide spectrum of styles. If you have experience in tattooing or possess a deep understanding of tattoo fundamentals, exceptional digital illustration skills, and the ability to translate abstract ideas into technically viable tattoo art, we would love to review your portfolio. What You Will Do Client Consultations Communicate professionally with clients to brainstorm concepts, interpret their creative vision, and accurately determine their desired aesthetic. Custom Illustration Produce high-quality, original tattoo designs tailored to various stylistic requests (e.g. Traditional, Realism, Fineline, Neo-Traditional, Japanese). Artist Collaboration Work seamlessly alongside multiple tattoo artists across multiple studios, preparing designs and stencils that align with their specific techniques and workflows. Technical Sizing & Anatomy Scale and format artwork appropriately, ensuring the design flows cohesively with the client's body placement and anatomical structure. Feasibility Assessment Ensure every design is practically executable as a tattoo, maintaining a strict awareness of appropriate line weight, shading gradients, spatial composition, and long-term aging on the skin. Qualifications & Expertise Software Mastery Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, and Procreate. Tattoo Design Knowledge A robust portfolio demonstrating your expertise in designing specifically for the medium of tattooing, with a clear understanding of what translates successfully to skin versus digital or print formats. Communication Skills Strong English verbal communication skills. You must be articulate, approachable, and patient when guiding clients through the consultation and revision process. Team-Oriented Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multiple tattoo artists, adapting to different artistic preferences and studio dynamics.
