About the role: We are seeking a full-time Educational Leader to join our team at Green Point Early Learning Centre. You will have the opportunity to grow your leadership potential with support from the leadership team at the centre. The position attracts an allowance in accordance with the Children’s Services Award 2010. To be able to provide the best possible mentoring and support through undertaking the role, the successful individual must be willing to accept a full-time contract. You will work a combination of non-contact time supporting educational program documentation and on-the-floor mentoring and coaching of practice, which may occur both in ratio and in addition to ratio. You will be allocated a set number of hours within this contract to complete Educational Leader requirements, which will be discussed through the recruitment process. Duties: Role model best practices and actively participate in and lead the development of the curriculum within a team of early childhood professionals. Mentor and support educators to become confident in their role in the planning cycle. Assist educators in supporting and promoting children’s developmental needs - social and emotional wellbeing, physical, and cognitive development. Ensure the establishment of clear goals and expectations for teaching and learning Support others in understanding different and new approaches to educating and caring for children while leading discussions on reflective practice. You must have: Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care Demonstrated experience in leading a team – desirable Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration – or willingness to obtain Regular availability and flexibility to work a range of shifts during our opening hours Discovery is a Child Safe Organisation and is committed to an organisation-wide culture of child safety as well as a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse.
