The role focuses on enhancing quality of life, promoting dignity, reducing anxiety and isolation, and supporting emotional wellbeing for patients and their families. About The Opportunity The therapist works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver person-centred care tailored to each patient’s interests, abilities, cultural background, and stage of illness. In this role, you will Assess patients’ recreational, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs, Develop individualized therapeutic activity programs aligned with patient goals and care plans, Adapt activities to suit changing physical and cognitive abilities, Support patients experiencing grief, anxiety, loneliness, or reduced independence, Encourage family involvement in therapeutic and meaningful engagement activities, maintain accurate documentation, assessments, progress notes, and care plans, collaborate with nurses, allied health professionals, volunteers, pastoral care, and medical staff. You can demonstrate evidence of knowledge and participation in the implementation of quality improvement and evidence-based practice processes. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated understanding of therapeutic interpersonal skills. You can demonstrate commitment to continuing professional education including demonstrated engagement in professional supervision and/or mentoring.
