Location: QLD, ACT, VIC, NSW Work Arrangement: Hybrid Job Type: Contract, long term We Pay Weekly JOB DETAILS We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Incident Responder to join a Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT). In this role, you will play a critical part in protecting the Agency by responding to cyber security incidents and strengthening overall security posture. This position requires hands‑on technical expertise, strong analytical capability, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Investigate and respond to potential and confirmed cyber security incidents across the full incident response lifecycle. Use a range of security tools and technologies to perform technical analysis and incident response activities. Lead and coordinate incident communications, ensuring all relevant parties understand their responsibilities and required actions. Develop and maintain accurate documentation, including incident records, reports, briefs, and recommendations. Communicate technical findings to diverse audiences through written reports, emails, and verbal updates. Support recovery activities and conduct post‑incident reviews to drive continuous improvement. Maintain, test, and enhance cyber security incident management policies, plans, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and best practice. Identify and implement technical improvements, including alert tuning and process optimisation. Mentor and support other team members to uplift capability across the CSIRT. Perform additional duties as required. TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Required: Minimum 3 years of hands‑on technical experience in a cyber security incident response role. Strong technical expertise with Microsoft Security Tools. Desired: GIAC certifications such as GCIH or GCFA. Relevant Microsoft security certifications. SELECTION CRITERIA Proven hands-on technical cyber security incident response expertise and responding to cyber security incidents from end-to-end. Strong technical expertise using Microsoft security tools related to cyber security incident response. Excellent verbal and written communications during and after cyber security incidents including technical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels.
