Job Description About the role We’re looking for a Senior Engineer to join us as a high-impact individual contributor working across some of our most strategic engineering initiatives, with a strong focus on AI-driven projects. This is not a role anchored to a single team from day one; instead, you’ll be deployed where your skills can create the most value, from initiatives such as Google Vertex AI Search, Assisted Apply and Agentic AI experiments, to improving development workflows with tools like Claude Code and helping shape the foundations of our AI engineering practice. Leadership & Influence This role is suited to someone who can lead through influence, building alignment across teams and shaping technical direction without relying on formal authority. They will play a key role in guiding important technical decisions, establishing the practices and standards others follow, and helping mature SEEK’s approach to AI development. To succeed, they will need to communicate complex technical concepts with clarity and credibility to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, product partners, and engineering teams. Responsibilities Contribute as a senior individual contributor across high-priority strategic initiatives, particularly in AI and platform capability Design, build and deliver scalable, secure and maintainable solutions across the stack, with a strong back-end focus Work hands-on in existing codebases and quickly ramp up in new languages, frameworks and systems as needed Help shape our AI engineering practice, including approaches to tooling, workflows, standards and ways of working Partner across teams to influence technical decisions and drive alignment without formal authority Translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for product leaders, directors and other non-technical stakeholders Bring structure, clarity and momentum to ambiguous problems, identifying what needs to be done and driving it through to delivery
