Our Sportsground & Turf Maintenance team plays a critical role in maintaining safe, functional and wellpresented sports fields and reserves across the city. We’re looking for someone who brings strong turf knowledge, a proactive mindset, and a positive contribution to team culture. About the role As a Team Member – Sportsground & Turf Maintenance, you’ll deliver proactive and reactive turf and grounds maintenance across sportsgrounds, ovals and reserves. Your work will include coordinating and delivering mowing, turf care and seasonal changeovers, inspecting playing surfaces for safety and condition, monitoring turf health, and supporting irrigation maintenance. You’ll operate tractors and relevant attachments, assist with line marking and sports setup, and help maintain public spaces to a high standard of presentation. This role also provides opportunities to scope and plan turf activities, support internal stakeholders with technical advice, and mentor other team members in best practice turf maintenance and changeover procedures. You may rotate across City Operations teams during peak periods, making collaboration and flexibility important. About you You’re passionate about turf quality and understand the importance of safe, reliable playing surfaces for community sport. You’ll ideally have a background in sports turf management or a similar environment, along with the relevant qualifications or experience. Just as importantly, you’re someone who takes ownership of your work, supports others, and contributes positively to team culture. You’re someone who: Takes pride in delivering highquality turf and playing surfaces Understands seasonal turf requirements and safety expectations Works safely, methodically and with attention to detail Enjoys mentoring others and sharing knowledge Is comfortable working outdoors in all conditions A Certificate III in Sports Turf Management and experience with irrigation systems, line marking, turf renovation works, and operating tractors or attachments will be highly regarded.
