Role overview Our client is looking for an experienced Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) Senior Technical Consultant / Developer who specialises in developing and maintaining custom solutions on the Dynamics 365 platform. This is initially a 6-month assignment, with the possibility of at least one 6-month extension and will be based in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, with hybrid working possible. The successful candidate will need to have skills in the following: Our client has implemented the Dynamics 365 platform – a cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) solution that includes a variety of application modules such as Finance, Flex, Sensei, Sales, Field Service, Marketing, and Asset Management, supported by the broader Microsoft Power Platform. You'll be a key member of the Microsoft Applications team and help the APAC team continue to unlock the benefits of the Dynamics 365 technology suite, with a particular focus on D365 CE, Power Platform, and the integration between CE and Finance & Operations. Key responsibilities The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to: - Designing and developing custom solutions on the Dynamics 365 CE platform aligned with business, architectural, and governance standards. - Configuring and extending Dynamics 365 CE and the Power Platform, including Power Apps (Canvas and Model-driven), Power Automate, Dataverse, and Power Pages. - Configuring and extending Dynamics 365 Field Service, including work orders, assets, schedules, bookings, and service processes. - Configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Dual-write integrations between Dynamics 365 CE and Finance & Operations – including table mappings, initial sync, cutover planning, and resolving data consistency or sync issues. - Developing and maintaining custom workflows, plug-ins, and custom actions. - Designing and building Power Pages portals, including authentication and security configuration, Dataverse integration, and custom UI/UX and business logic. - Integrating Dynamics 365 with other systems and applications using Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, Dual-write, and REST APIs. - Implementing and maintaining Dataverse governance – application lifecycle management, data security and access controls, and compliance with organisational standards. - Troubleshooting and optimising the performance of workflows, Dual-write integrations, applications, and data connections. - Supporting deployments and environment management across Development, Test, and Production environments. - Creating and maintaining documentation for custom solutions. - Collaborating with other team members, including functional consultants, technical teams, and business stakeholders, to ensure solutions meet requirements. - Staying up to date with new features and capabilities of Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform. The successful candidate will have - 7 years of hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE). - A strong understanding of the Dynamics 365 platform and the broader Microsoft Power Platform. - Strong hands-on experience with Power Apps (Canvas and Model-driven) and Power Automate. - Mandatory experience designing and delivering Power Pages portals. - Proven experience configuring Dataverse, including security and access controls. - Demonstrated experience delivering solutions using Dynamics 365 Field Service. - Hands-on experience with Dual-write – configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting data synchronisation between CE and Finance & Operations. - Experience with programming languages such as X, C#, JavaScript, and TypeScript. - Experience with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and REST APIs. - Demonstrated ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Consulting experience, including solution architecture, technical design, and stakeholder engagement across technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors or partners. Highly regarded - Real Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) development experience. - Strong experience integrating Dynamics 365 CE with Finance & Operations, including Dual-write architecture and best practices. - Azure integration experience, including Azure Functions and Application Insights. - Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform and Dynamics 365 solutions. - Familiarity with enterprise governance, security, and compliance frameworks. Personal attributes - Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. - Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently on complex initiatives. - Able to manage multiple priorities within a large, enterprise environment.
