Job Description The position The Team Leader (ITM) leads and supervises youth workers across four sites. This role is designed to focus on quality, capacity and capability of operational staff within the permanency support program and address the needs of the young people in our programs through the following: Support and training of Youth Workers to complete their respective responsibilities to an appropriate standard. Monitoring and identifying areas for improvement of the Youth Worker’s direct work with young people in the residential and community setting. Ensuring high-quality support for young people that are transitioning into an interim care 1:1 model of care. Monitoring performance data and supporting Youth Workers to complete documentation requirements and ensuring Care Teams are supporting Youth Workers. Maintain compliance with statutory and organisational requirements. Desired Skills and Experience The candidate Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services, or a related discipline, with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development. At least 3 years demonstrated experience in working effectively with the issues faced by children and young people who have a complex trauma background, particularly relating to supporting Youth Workers. Experience & Skills: Demonstrated ability to provide casework leadership, practice advice, training, and mentorship. Demonstrated experience in leading / coordinating a team. Demonstrated understanding of the NSW Child Safe Standards, the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998, and other regulatory and accreditation frameworks and responsibilities (e.g. Office of the Children’s Guardian, WHS, Incident reporting). Training in a therapeutic care model and/or framework (e.g., ARC, TCI, Sanctuary, CARE, MAYBO). Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Work Requirement: Current First Aid and CPR certificate. Current Working with Children Check (WWCC). Clear National Criminal History Check. Eligibility to work in Australia. This position is based at LaValla Office, Blacktown NSW, with flexible working arrangements agreed on a case-by-case basis. Current unrestricted NSW drivers’ licence, with ability to drive Marist180 fleet vehicles.
