This is an exciting opportunity for a hands on and detail orientated Technical Officer to work across assembly, testing and production activities within a highly collaborative environment. This role offers variety, technical challenge and the opportunity to work closely with experienced multi-disciplinary teams in a modern manufacturing setting. About the role: The key responsibilities of the role include: Assembling electro-mechanical and mechanical components in accordance with work instructions, assembly drawings and/or schematics. Assembly of mechanical components to tight engineering tolerances. Testing of equipment and subsystems according to test procedures by using common available test tools. Developing and maintaining work instructions and process documentation associated with assembly and production. Participating in continuous improvement activities. Conducting fault diagnosis and problem solving associated with the component parts of a sub-system. Maintaining records, such as as-built configurations of equipment and test logs. Conducting reports that may include red-lining documentation, fault diagnosis reports and recording of non- conformances and deviations. Conducting minor painting of parts and sub-systems - touch-up painting. What you'll Bring: Certificate, Trade Qualification or higher in a mechanical or manufacturing oriented field Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Familiarity with the use of hand tools and torque equipment Experience with light fabrication – filing, de-burring etc Minimum 3 years industry experience, within a quality framework, in an engineering environment, supporting medium subsystems or group of smaller subsystems and/or equipment Experience with modern ERP tools for production planning, control and monitoring Mandatory Requirements: Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR) Must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
