Position Details Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 per annum statutory superannuation Hours: Minimum 38 hours per week Key Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for: Preparing and cooking a range of dishes in accordance with established recipes and menu requirements Assisting in food preparation tasks including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients Cooking and plating food items to ensure consistency in quality, taste, and presentation Following instructions and kitchen procedures as directed by senior kitchen staff Monitoring food during preparation and cooking to ensure it meets required standards Maintaining a clean and organised work area, including equipment and utensils Ensuring food is stored, handled, and rotated in compliance with food safety standards Assisting with stock control, including checking deliveries and storing supplies appropriately Working effectively during busy service periods to meet operational demands Adhering to workplace health and safety and hygiene regulations at all times Supporting other kitchen team members to ensure smooth daily operations Skills and Qualifications To be considered for this role, applicants must demonstrate: A relevant qualification equivalent to Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery , or equivalent industry experience At least 1 year of relevant work experience in a commercial kitchen environment Practical knowledge of preparing a variety of dishes within a modern Australian or similar cuisine setting Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and safe work practices Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team Strong attention to detail and consistency in food preparation Reliability and a professional work ethic What We Offer Stable, full-time employment Competitive salary in line with industry standards A structured and supportive kitchen environment Opportunity to further develop practical cooking skills A collaborative and professional team culture
