Role Highlights Working within the Asset Management, Strategy and Planning team and across multi discipled divisions, the Asset Investment Planner will be responsible for the development and delivery of short, medium, and long-term asset investment plans at Fremantle Ports, including maintenance and capital investments of up to $100m in value. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: You will support the full lifecycle of asset investment planning — from preparing project initiation requests to modelling whole‑of‑life costs and assessing investment options across all asset classes. You’ll monitor delivery progress, manage variations, and work closely with Strategy, Planning and Performance to ensure alignment across the organisation. You will prepare compelling business cases that integrate asset condition, risk, lifecycle cost, and investment rationale, coordinating inputs from finance, delivery teams, asset performance, strategy, and subject matter experts. You’ll validate assumptions, highlight misalignment or risks, and facilitate walkthroughs with internal and external stakeholders, including Treasury. Success in this role requires strong analytical capability, cross‑divisional collaboration, and the ability to translate complex asset and financial information into clear, actionable insights. You’ll help drive a positive safety culture, uphold governance and compliance standards, and contribute to Fremantle Ports’ commitment to ethical, transparent and high‑quality decision‑making. What Makes You a Great Fit Ability to Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence. Project management skills, including an ability to coordinate inputs from a multi-disciplinary range of internal staff and external consultants, while still meeting quality, time, and budget targets Knowledge of financial principles, including discounted cash flow analysis, project valuation, accounting principles and discount rate determination methods Knowledge of numerical modelling, including its use for developing demand, operational and financial models Skilled in developing WA treasury level business cases and clearly articulating complex ideas through advanced written and verbal communication. Strong oral and written communication that effectively articulates complex ideas to develop business cases. Advanced use of Microsoft BI, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software You’ll also bring Tertiary qualification in engineering/ commercial discipline is desirable. Experience with business case, financial model development and asset investment proposals. Experience working both independently and, in a team oriented, collaborative environment. Experience with Oracle Maintenance Cloud and other Oracle systems is desirable. Experience with Port infrastructure desirable.
