Registered Nurse – Grade 3 | Mental Health Newtown, Hobart TAS Contract: 15 June 2026 – 12 July 2026 We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Grade 3 to join the Continuing Care Stream – Hobart & Southern Mental Health Services on a locum contract basis. This role is ideal for a clinician with strong community mental health experience who is confident managing complex caseloads and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. About the Role Based at the Carruthers Building, St John’s Park, Newtown , you will provide specialised mental health assessments, assertive case management and recovery-focused care to consumers with complex mental health needs in a community setting. You will act as a key clinical resource to nursing, medical and allied health staff while supporting consumers, carers and external providers to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care delivery. Key Responsibilities Manage a designated patient caseload within the community mental health setting Deliver recovery-focused mental health assessments and evidence-based interventions Provide assertive care coordination and case management Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, GPs, carers and external service providers Participate in the team duty roster Support and educate consumers and carers Work collaboratively as an active member of the mental health team Undertake additional duties within the scope and classification of the role Essential Requirements Current AHPRA registration Demonstrated mental health nursing experience Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Card Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work autonomously within a community setting Contract Details Dates: 15/06/2026 – 12/07/2026 Hours: 76 hours per fortnight Roster: Monday to Friday Shift Times: 8:30am – 5:06pm with 1 hour lunch break No planned leave approvals due to rostering requirements If you are interested in this opportunity or would like further information, please reach out today.
