About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to support our finance function through the accurate and timely management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities. This role is suitable for both graduates and early-career finance professionals who are keen to develop their skills in a supportive, fast-paced environment. The role plays a key part in ensuring efficient invoice processing, vendor management, reconciliations, and month-end close processes, while maintaining compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies. Working closely with the Finance Manager and the wider finance team, the Assistant Accountant will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, effective reporting, and building positive supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Provide support to the Director of Finance and the wider finance team. Accurately process all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable entries in the ERP system. Process supplier invoices and payments within required timeframes. Maintain vendor accounts, including new vendor setups and compliance requirements. Ensure legislative compliance for independent contractors. Process and review employee expense claims and support the effective use of the expense management system across the business. Perform accurate and timely account reconciliations. Assist with month-end close processes, including reconciliation of receivables, payables, and balance sheet accounts. Review financial statements, ledgers, and accounts, and process adjustments or corrections as required. Support accountants with AR processes and deliverables when needed. Coach and support new staff in Accounts Payable processes and deliverables. Assist the wider finance team with reporting and month-end deliverables as required. About You You are organised, adaptable, and take pride in getting the details right. You enjoy working as part of a team, are comfortable juggling competing priorities, and are committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced environment. You will also bring: Certificate in Finance or Accounting (or currently working towards). 3 years’ finance experience or graduate-level experience in accounting. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. High attention to detail, confidentiality, and strong focus on deadlines. Collaborative and solution-focused mindset.
