Refrigeration Mechanic AJ Baker & Sons are a fourth generation, family-owned company established in 1920, with branches located throughout Australia including WA, SA, NSW, VIC & QLD. We specialise in the supply, installation, service, and maintenance of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems for supermarkets and other commercial businesses. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, suitably qualified and experienced Refrigeration Service Technician to join our Perth Service Team on a permanent full-time basis. This position would suit a motivated tradesperson looking to further develop their technical skills within a stable, supportive, and nationally recognised company. About the Role Reporting to the Service Supervisor / Service Manager, the Service Technician is responsible for carrying out service, maintenance, breakdown, and repair work across a range of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems. This is a field-based role suited to someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and working within a supportive team environment. Key Responsibilities Carry out service, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems Attend breakdown callouts and reactive maintenance tasks across customer sites Complete preventative maintenance works in accordance with company and client requirements Accurately complete service reports, timesheets, and job documentation Maintain high standards of workmanship, presentation, and customer service Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, SWMS/JSA procedures, and company policies Support apprentices and work collaboratively with other technicians and departments Participate in after-hours callout roster where required Demonstrate a minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory or leading hand experience About You Trade qualified Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence Restricted Electrical Licence (or equivalent) Previous experience in commercial refrigeration and/or supermarket refrigeration preferred Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Good communication and customer service skills Commitment to safety, compliance, and quality workmanship Current Driver's Licence (essential) Minimum of 5 years of refrigeration/HVAC trade experience is required.
