About the Position: The Municipal Services Officer (MSO) plays a critical role in overseeing various operational aspects within remote Aboriginal communities. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to community development. Working under the direction of the MUNS Program Manager, the role of the Municipal Services Officer is to coordinate and carry out the delivery of municipal services activities in the Ngaanyatjarra communities. What is required: Checking of powerhouses, inspection of bores and checking of sewerage facilities Maintaining internal community roads – includes filling of potholes and maintenance of drainage Airstrip maintenance – includes routine and essential maintenance of community airstrips (such as fencing and airstrip clearing) Maintenance of community assets, building and infrastructure - includes maintaining assets, reporting on fuel use and reporting breakdowns Landscaping and fire protection - includes slashing, tree planting, watering, and clean-up of potential fire hazards Waste Management Increase Indigenous participation in the workforce by coordinating and supporting supervision to locally engaged Municipal Services Works Team Working in collaboration with Collaboration with Community Development Program (CDP) and Community Engagement Coordinators.
