Are you a hands-on, practical individual with strong general maintenance skills? Brooks Hire, a trusted provider of mining and construction equipment, is seeking a reliable Building Maintenance Person / All-Rounder to support the upkeep, repair, and day-to-day functionality of our sites. This role can be based out of our Withcott or Oxley branch and offers variety for someone who can work autonomously, manage a diverse workload, and assist across multiple areas of the business when required. Responsibilities / Duties will include: Carry out general building maintenance, repairs, and minor building works across company sites. Read drawings and complete tasks such as cutting timber, installing shelving, hanging doors, and basic concreting. Perform routine and ad hoc maintenance to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of all premises. Assist with outdoor maintenance tasks, including general grounds upkeep when required. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery. Assist in the workshop and on the wash pad as required. Travel between branches and sites across the East Coast, including trips of up to two weeks at a time. Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate work and resolve issues. Identify maintenance issues and think outside the box to develop practical solutions. Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Work autonomously with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team. Be flexible to work occasional overtime, including weekends. Requirements: Proven experience in general maintenance, repairs, or building-related projects. Ability to read drawings and carry out minor construction and maintenance tasks. Knowledge and skills in other trades, or a strong willingness to learn. Some mechanical and machinery experience is beneficial but not essential. Current manual C-Class driver’s licence (HR preferred). Forklift ticket (preferred). Supply own basic tools. Willingness and ability to travel between sites as required. Strong work ethic, reliability, and a proactive approach to work. Proven ability to manage a diverse workload and meet deadlines. Able to think practically and adapt when faced with challenges.
