As an Aircrew Survival Equipment Systems Technician, you will be working within the Government Business Unit of PilAUS where you will have a key role working with the design engineering team. Position Overview: The Aircrew Survival Equipment Systems Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of various aircrew survival systems fitted to the Pilatus PC‑21 aircraft. This includes both armament-related aircraft egress systems and aircrew life support equipment (ALSE). Armament Fitters must be cross-trained and certified to perform life support maintenance tasks. Life Support Fitters must be cross-trained and certified to perform armament system tasks. Key Responsibilities: Armament Systems: Perform scheduled and unscheduled Mk.CH16C Ejection Seat maintenance. Replacement of the Miniature Detonator Cord (MDC) on the Aircraft Canopy. Life Support Systems: Perform scheduled and unscheduled Parachute maintenance. Perform scheduled and unscheduled Personal Survival Pack (PSP) maintenance. Perform scheduled and unscheduled Aircrew Life Support Equipment (ALSE) maintenance including helmets, oxygen masks, anti-G trousers, and of the life preserver jackets. Additional Tasks General sewing tasks. Aircrew ALSE Fit-outs. Second Level Inspections on all equipment maintained by the section. Conduct On the Job Training on tasks the member is currently authorised as EXPERT. Qualifications: Cert IV in Aeroskills (Armament) or Cert III in Aircraft Life Support and Furnishing or equivalent Trade Training is desirable. Prior experience as an Aircraft Armament Fitter of Life Support Fitter in a Defence aviation environment is highly desirable. Attributes: Familiarity with company systems including SMS and ITS database. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Understanding of project management principles. Excellent planning, organisation, and prioritisation skills. Effective oral and written communication. Ability to mentor, influence, and work independently or within a team. High level of professionalism, loyalty, and process discipline. Willingness to work flexible hours and expand technical knowledge. Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access and Email.
