The Australian Council on Smoking and Health (ACOSH) is seeking a highly organised, adaptable, and energetic Office Manager (0.8FTE) to join our team. As a key member of our small but mighty team, you'll play an important role in keeping the organisation running seamlessly while supporting advocacy initiatives that help us to achieve an end to tobacco and nicotine harm in Australia. Each week will bring a diverse mix of responsibilities, from coordinating operations and supporting projects to helping deliver campaigns and events that make a real impact. The role is for a 12 month, fixed term contract - with the possibility of extension. KEY ROLES Act as a central coordination point for the organisation, ensuring priorities are managed and work flows efficiently. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the office to enable effective delivery of advocacy and policy work. Support coordination of advocacy campaigns, workshops and events. Provide administrative support to staff working on tobacco control initiatives including, managing calendars, collating meeting agendas and arranging travel. Support core projects including assist with preparing briefing materials, reports, presentations and advocacy communications. Maintain and improve office systems, processes, equipment and documentation. Oversee the maintenance of office IT requirements, including software, data security, equipment ordering and liaising with IT services. Provide flexible, general support across research, communications, and advocacy projects as required. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in administration, office management, or a similar role. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in administration or office management roles. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach. Ability to work independently, use initiative, and adapt to changing priorities in a small team environment. Confidence using digital tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and communication platforms). Knowledge of financial administration processes. Genuine interest in public health, advocacy, or social impact. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Experience supporting events, campaigns, or communications. Being a non-smoker and non-vaper. DESIRABLE CRITERIA: Experience in a not-for-profit, government, or advocacy environment. Familiarity with policy processes and stakeholder engagement.
