The Role As a Water Operations Specialist, you will work closely with the Water Operations Manager and senior leaders to provide subject matter expertise to ensure we continue providing safe and reliable water to over 2 million people. This role is vital for operationalising regulatory requirements, embedding risk management controls, driving continuous improvement in operational performance and responding to complex incidents. Your Key Responsibilities Identify and manage operational risks including public health, service reliability and environmental impacts. Drive strategic outcomes in safety, reliability compliance and operational efficiency. Lead or act as a subject matter expert during complex operational incidents and emergencies. Analyse performance data to support improvement projects and proactively introduce new technology to increase asset efficiency. Build strong relationships with regulators and partners and influence policy outcomes through industry working groups. Play a leading role in building operational engineering and technical capability across the organisation. What we're Looking for Demonstrated advanced competency in the operation and maintenance of water distribution systems - including both water quality aspects and network hydraulics. Advanced ability to apply risk management principles and interpret complex legal obligations. Proven capacity to provide evidence-based advice and influence decision-making at Senior Management and Executive levels. Skilled in using IT and data systems including SCADA, GIS, and data analytics. A collaborative professional who is comfortable with ambiguity and can remain calm under pressure in a challenging environment. To view the full position description, click HERE .
