To ensure the success of this transition, we’re looking for a Desktop SOE and Application Packaging Officer (internally referred to as Desktop Packaging Officer) to play a key role in developing, testing, and deploying software packages, ensuring smooth integration into our desktop environment. You will work closely with various IT teams to maintain the efficiency, security, and consistency of desktop software installations, making this an ideal role for someone with a strong technical background and a passion for IT support. We’re looking for people who have: Technical Skills: Relevant qualifications or practical experience in IT, especially in software packaging and deployment. Experience with software and deployment tools such as Microsoft MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager), Intune, or similar solutions. Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems, hardware, and network configurations. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, VBScript) to automate tasks and improve efficiency. Knowledge of MECM Task Sequences and how to create and edit them would be beneficial. Deploy and manage SOE using tools like SCCM, Intune, Autopilot. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Automatic Deployment Rules (ADR's) would be beneficial. A good understanding of ActiveSetup and how it works/applies. Knowledge of Group Policy Management, including configuring and modifying Group Policies would be beneficial. Knowledge of PSAppDeployToolkit Behavioural Skills: Attention to detail and the ability to thoroughly test and ensure smooth deployments. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues quickly. A customer-focused approach to service, ensuring end-users receive effective support. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with different teams. A proactive attitude and willingness to improve processes.
