There is now an opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Sales and Marketing team. The Opportunity Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role drives new business and manages key accounts across corporate, wholesale, and MICE segments. This is a strategic, revenue-focused role suited to someone who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering commercial results. Key Responsibilities Drive New Business and Revenue Growth Identify, target and convert new business opportunities across corporate, MICE, wholesale and inbound segments. Proactively generate room nights and event business, including opportunities linked to Adelaide Convention Centre and the broader precinct. Conduct sales calls, client meetings, presentations, and attend trade shows to build a strong pipeline. Negotiate rates, contracts, and terms to maximise long-term revenue for the hotel. Manage Key Accounts Manage and grow the hotel’s top accounts, ensuring strong retention and increased share of business. Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, travel agents, PCOs and industry partners. Work closely with national and Accor network teams to leverage opportunities across markets. Collaborate for Success Partner with Revenue, Reservations, Conference & Events and Operations teams to optimise performance. Ensure all leads are followed up efficiently and converted in a timely manner. Support the development of sales strategies aligned with overall hotel objectives. Market & Brand Representation Represent The Playford and Accor at industry events, networking functions and client engagements. Promote the hotel and destination to drive inbound and leisure demand. Act as a brand ambassador, enhancing market presence and reputation. About You Minimum 2 years’ experience in hotel sales or business development. Proven track record in achieving revenue targets and driving new business. Strong negotiation, networking and relationship-building skills. Commercially astute with a strategic mindset. Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. Experience with PMS and sales systems is advantageous. What's in it for you?
