The Marble & Granite Fitters Cairns is seeking a Trades Assistant / Labourer to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing things properly, and wants a long-term career opportunity in a specialised trade. No stone industry experience? No problem. If you have the right attitude, are reliable, and willing to learn, full on-the-job training will be provided. What you'll be doing Assisting tradespeople with the fabrication of natural stone products such as marble, granite, and porcelain Carrying out general labouring duties including loading/unloading materials, site clean-up, and tool maintenance Ensuring a safe and efficient work environment by adhering to all health and safety procedures Supporting the team in completing projects to the highest standard What we're looking for A minimum of 1 year's experience in a labouring or trades assistant role is required Excellent teamwork and communication skills Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Good fitness level required to perform physically demanding tasks and handle heavy stone materials weighing up to 30kg A valid manual driver's licence and reliable transportation is essential Appropriate Australian work rights to be legally employed in this position (No sponsorship available) What we offer Competitive salary and opportunities for career advancement Stable full-time work Comprehensive training and development programs A supportive and collaborative work environment Highly regarded (but not essential): Construction, cabinetmaking, carpentry or stone industry experience Forklift licence White Card Important Information Safety is our number one priority.
