Your new role As a Pipe Welder, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding on critical pipework and plant equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. This includes carrying out coded welds using TIG and stick processes, interpreting drawings and procedures, and completing welds that meet strict inspection standards. The role involves working long shifts in a shutdown environment, following strict safety protocols, and collaborating with other trades to efficiently repair and maintain plant systems within tight timeframes. What you'll need to succeed Proven experience working as a pressure welder on shutdown projects within mining or heavy industry Demonstrated experience in big bore welding on high-pressure pipe systems Strong ability to work effectively within a team‑based outage setting, with clear communication skills Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, procedures, and personal accountability Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Boilermaker/Welder) Current tickets including - Enter & Work in Confined Spaces (RIIWHS202E), Working at Heights (RIIWHS204E - current within 3 years), Construction White Card, and Valve overhaul experience would be an advantage. Reliable, safety‑focused, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced outage environment Ability to DIDO & complete the full 2.5 - 3 weeks 2 x Previous References What you'll get in return You'll secure a casual DIDO outage role at Callide Power Station in Biloela for a 2.5 to 3-week duration. The position offers a Monday to Saturday roster with day & night shifts available, working 11‑hour shifts throughout the outage period.
