The AIN supports the nursing and midwifery care team in the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centred care within an acute care environment. The role involves working under the supervision, delegation, and direction of a Registered Nurse. Shifts are rotating and across the ward, with flexible working hours available. Weekday and weekend work is available. The Position Works within the AIN scope of practice. Plans, collaborates and consults with RN/RM to achieve desired health outcomes for patients in a timely and efficient manner. All aspects of direct patient care is carried out under direction, guidance, supervision and coordination of a Registered Nurse/Midwife. Assists Nursing/ Midwifery caregivers to deliver all aspects of care using a patient-centred approach. • Observes and reports all changes in patient’s condition to the Registered Nurse/Midwife in a timely and appropriate manner. Responds appropriately to patient’s needs/call bells in a timely manner. Is accountable for performing all duties in accordance with the Statement of Duties list, within a demonstrated competency level. Seek advice on dealing with conflict within the workplace and report conflict to Nurse/Midwife immediately. Perform safe manual handling of patients under supervision of Registered Nurse/Midwife. • Adheres to infection control policy and procedures. You will have active enrolment in, and have successfully completed at least 12 months of, an NMBA‑approved Bachelor of Nursing and/or Midwifery degree or Diploma of Nursing program, or you will have successfully completed a nationally recognised qualification, being the Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assistance in Nursing Work in Acute Care) HLT33115 or an equivalent qualification. To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate competence and effectively perform the skills outlined in the Statement of Duties, along with exhibiting well‑developed verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
