REFOCUS is seeking a Child Case Coordinator – Delegated Authority to join our team and support culturally safe, family-led planning for children and families. This role sits within REFOCUS ’s Delegated Authority framework and works in close partnership with Child Safety, families, communities, cultural connection, and family participation. This position does not hold statutory case management responsibility. Statutory case management remains with the Child Safety Officer. About the role As a Child Case Coordinator – Delegated Authority, you will: Coordinate culturally safe, family-led planning processes Work alongside families, children, carers, and community supports Monitor and review reunification, family time, safety, and support plans Prepare evidence-informed recommendations for delegated decisions Support strong governance through clear documentation and approval pathways Work in close partnership with Child Safety Officers, Team Leaders, and management You will not authorise decisions. All authorising powers sit with the REFOCUS Chief Executive Officer. Strong communication, role clarity, and respect for governance processes are essential to this role. Pay and conditions Permanent part-time position Hourly pay rates range from: Level 1 PPT1 $35.93 per hour, up to Level 4 PPT 5 $52.60 per hour Classification level and pay rate are assessed and determined based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated capability. What we’re looking for We’re looking for someone who: Has a strong commitment to child safety and family-led practice Understands, or is willing to learn, Delegated Authority practice Can build respectful partnerships with families, communities, and Child Safety Is organised, reflective, and confident with documentation and review processes Values cultural safety, collaboration, and accountability Qualifications and experience Relevant qualification in human services, social work, community services, or a related field, or working towards Experience in child protection, family support, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community services is desirable Willingness to undertake intensive training in child safety legislation, policies, and procedures Training and support Entry-level practitioners will receive intensive training in child safety legislation, policies, procedures, and Delegated Authority practice. Ongoing supervision, mentoring, and professional development are core to this role.
