The Role In the Electician / Instrument Fitter role, you'll be involved in the delivery of a significant capital works program across Councils Water & Wastewater infrastructure. This role will be primarily responsible for attending Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), commissioning activities, contractor management, and defect identification. Key responsibilities include: Inspect and verify new switchboards to organisational and AS3000 standards Conduct statutory inspections, defect reporting and drawing mark-ups Attend Factory & Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT) – including Brisbane travel Fault find, repair, and maintain electrical & instrumentation systems Work across water, wastewater, sewage treatment, and telemetry Support apprentices and contribute to team capability Participate in an after-hours on-call roster About You You are a licensed and experienced tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship, safety and technical excellence. Mandatory: QLD Electrical Fitter Licence QLD Electrical Mechanic Licence White Card (CPCWHS1001) CPR (HLTAID009) & Low Voltage Rescue Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence Highly regarded: Certificate III in Instrumentation & Control PLC and control circuitry fault-finding experience Water/Wastewater industry experience You bring: Strong diagnostic and commissioning skills Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces Clear communication and customer-focused service Commitment to safety – home safe every day What We Offer Annual salary $98,148.44 including allowance 17.5% leave loading Overtime and other penalty rates may apply to on-call work, in addition to the base wage rate.
