The business services a diverse client base including retirement villages, commercial premises, schools, shopping centres, residential developments, and community facilities. Due to ongoing business growth and increased demand for landscaping and grounds maintenance projects, we are seeking an experienced and qualified Landscape Gardener to join our team on a full-time basis. Position Overview The Landscape Gardener will be responsible for the planning, construction, installation, and maintenance of landscape projects across commercial and residential sites. The role requires a combination of technical landscaping skills, horticultural knowledge, and practical experience in hardscaping and soft landscaping works. The position is consistent with the duties of a Landscape Gardener under ANZSCO 362213. Qualifications and Experience AQF Certificate III in Landscape Construction, Horticulture, or related field; or equivalent overseas qualification. Minimum 3 years full-time relevant industry experience as a Landscape Gardener or similar role. Demonstrated experience in landscape construction, irrigation systems, lawn establishment, and garden maintenance. Ability to interpret landscaping plans and specifications. Knowledge of plant care, soil preparation, turf management, and horticultural practices. White Card and current Driver’s Licence preferred. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Key Duties and Responsibilities Landscape Planning and Site Preparation Interpreting landscaping plans, drawings, and specifications. Assessing site conditions and preparing work areas for landscaping activities. Measuring and marking out landscape projects according to design requirements. Preparing soil, garden beds, and planting areas. Landscape Construction Constructing and installing landscape features including retaining walls, paving, pathways, fencing, edging, pergolas, and garden structures. Installing irrigation and drainage systems. Laying turf and establishing lawn areas. Constructing softscape and hardscape elements in accordance with project specifications. Operating landscaping tools, machinery, and equipment safely and effectively. Planting and Horticultural Works Selecting and planting trees, shrubs, hedges, flowers, and ground covers suitable to environmental and project requirements. Applying fertilisers, mulches, and soil conditioners to improve plant growth. Monitoring plant health and implementing appropriate treatments for pests, weeds, and diseases. Garden and Grounds Maintenance Maintaining lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas through mowing, trimming, pruning, watering, and weeding. Pruning trees and shrubs to maintain health and appearance. Replacing damaged plants and maintaining overall presentation standards of landscaped areas. Maintaining gardening equipment, tools, and machinery in good working condition.
