We are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the company’s financial compliance and decision-making processes. The role focuses on maintaining financial integrity across business operations, supporting budgeting activities, and working closely with management to ensure sound financial control within the automotive wholesale environment. Roles and Responsibilities: Prepare management reports, financial analysis, and forecasting reports to support business planning and operational decision-making across sales, inventory, and distribution functions. Monitor and analyse revenue, margins, inventory costs, and operational expenditures against budgets and financial targets. Develop budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial projections aligned with the company’s commercial objectives and growth plans. Analyse branch, product, and operational performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability. Review inventory movements, stock valuation, and cost allocations to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective inventory control. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and compliance obligations, including BAS and taxation reporting requirements. Investigate financial discrepancies, verify accounting records, and provide supporting financial documentation and analysis when required. Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and taxation advisers regarding financial reporting and compliance matters. Maintain and improve accounting systems, financial databases, and reporting procedures to support efficient financial management and internal controls. Required Qualification and Experience At least 1 year’s work experience as an Accountant. Bachelor’s degree or above in accounting. Required Knowledge and Skills Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and bookkeeping practices. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, or similar systems). Strong analytical skills with attention to financial accuracy and detail. Ability to interpret financial data and support business decision-making. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
