Compliance Officer - Cyber (18 month MTC) Vital risk focussed role Community Values Centric Organisation Flexible and supportive team culture About the Role This role sits at the heart of our Cyber Security team, providing hands-on delivery and coordination support to help the organisation meet its cyber security compliance and assurance obligations. As a Compliance Officer (Cyber), you’ll support Governance, Risk and Compliance activities by maintaining governance documentation, managing evidence and registers, tracking actions, and supporting audit and reporting processes across key frameworks such as the SOCI Act and the Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF). Your work will help ensure we remain organised, transparent and audit-ready. A key feature of the role is helping improve how the cyber security team works. You’ll support the responsible use of approved AI-enabled and digital tools to streamline high-volume, repeatable GRC activities, reducing manual effort while maintaining quality and assurance standards. Working closely with senior team members, you’ll provide support than enables greater focus on risk judgement, regulatory interpretation and executive assurance, while contributing to practical improvements in processes and information management. This is a maximum term contract for until June 2028. Position Description About you You're an emerging professional who is keen to build capability in governance, risk and compliance within a regulated cyber environment. You’ll be motivated and engaged by new technologies with a constant eye for improvements and with experience supporting compliance, risk or governance activities. You'll bring working understanding of compliance frameworks (such as SOCI, VPDSF or similar), along with strong written communication skills and a proactive, reliable approach to getting things done. You’re comfortable working with policies, procedures, registers and evidence, and take pride in keeping information accurate, up to date and well-managed Backed by strong written communication skills and a reliable approach to delivery, you have the ability to coordinate inputs, track actions and work effectively under time pressure in a supportive, fast-paced team. You’re also interested in using technology and approved AI-enabled tools responsibly to streamline processes, reduce manual effort and improve quality while maintaining strong governance and control.
