Join Our Primary Teaching Team We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join our dynamic school community. The primary focus of the classroom teacher is on the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes that are in line with the values, strategies and ethos of the school. A key responsibility is to ensure the education and well-being of all students, as well as to supervise curriculum development, planning, and student assessment. All teachers may be required to undertake other duties in addition to teaching duties provided the responsibility is appropriate to the qualifications, training and experience of the teacher. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with staff, build positive relationships with students and families, and contribute to a supportive and values-driven learning environment. Key Focus Areas Student Wellbeing · Provide an environment that supports the cognitive, physical, emotional, social, and intellectual well-being of all students, ensuring teaching practices are grounded in best theoretical and practical knowledge and tailored to each student’s development, skills, and interests. · Identify and cater to individual learner needs by collaborating with other teachers and specialist staff, recognising and respecting diversity and individual differences. · Establish and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students while safeguarding their privacy and confidentiality, as well as that of their families. · Build positive relationships with parents and guardians based on respect, mutual trust, and open communication, respecting their rights to inquiry, consultation, and information about their children. · Acknowledge and respect the uniqueness and characteristics of each family’s background. Planning and Preparation · Design coherent learning units, lessons, and activities using a variety of instructional strategies aligned with the school’s values and strategies, ensuring they cater to the full range of student abilities within the class. · Participate in the creation, development, and evaluation of curriculum while working collaboratively with other teachers on lesson plans and assessments. · Develop lesson plans and assessments that reflect a deep understanding of content, age-appropriate instructional levels, and available resources, demonstrating knowledge of content and student development. · Plan, prepare, and present engaging lessons that facilitate positive student development and promote learning through effective assessment and evaluation practices. · Integrate the use of technology into teaching practices to enhance student learning experiences. · Teach all areas of the relevant curriculum with a comprehensive understanding of student needs and developmental stages. Professional Practice · Commit to ongoing professional learning and continual strive to improve teaching and learning strategies. · Maintain teaching competency and currency of knowledge of relevant curriculum programs as required by the department or other relevant statutory authorities · Stay informed regarding current trends, teaching practices and curriculum and resource developments by remaining in contact with relevant associations and other professional networks and attend appropriate seminars and courses as required. · To participate in curriculum initiatives for Maarif Schools Victoria as required.
