Is this your next career opportunity? We are looking for Casual AOD Support Workers to join our team at our 77 bed AOD Rehabilitation Facility located at Maryknoll (10 minutes from Pakenham). The AOD Support Worker ensures the Rehabilitation Facility is a safe and supportive environment for residents to participate in AOD rehabilitation treatment. Support senior team members to initiate effective treatment and intervention planning, addressing identified client needs. Participate in the orientation and ongoing support of new residents. Provide practical and emotional support to residents during admissions and discharges, in conjunction with AOD Clinicians. Facilitate group interventions focused on a range of treatment modalities and other therapeutic interventions when required. Supervise and participate in daily house and domestic activities when required. Provide support to residents attending off-site appointments and visits, including driving to and from appointments and communicating any concerns or recommendations raised by allied health professional to the nurses / handover. Maintain client documentation and case notes accurately and in a timely manner. Casual Shift Types Available Sleepover shifts – Working hours are from 4:00pm – 10:30pm, remain onsite to sleep with completion of the shift the following morning working from 6:30am - 8:00am. Standup shifts - Working hours are from 11:00pm -7:30am. What we're looking for: 2 years’ experience working within the AOD or mental health sector and ability to navigate and understand AOD services. Case management skills and ability to write clear and professional case notes/handover notes and other essential documentation. Ability to work, participate and contribute within a multidisciplinary team. High level interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening skills and clear speaking skills, with an ability to tailor communicate style to suit the diversity of residents. Strong time management skills with an ability to adapt and reprioritise as required based on the needs of the program and residents. Proficiency using computer software such as Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and client data base system (Mastercare). Certificate IV in AOD or AOD Skill Set.
