We specialise in the processing and recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, with a strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence. About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-focused Excavator Operator to join our team. This role is critical to the efficient day-to-day operation of our recycling yard and involves operating a range of excavators from a 14-tonne Kobelco through to a 45-tonne Komatsu. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of safety awareness, strong machine operating skills, and a proactive approach to equipment care and maintenance. Key Responsibilities Operate excavators safely and efficiently to sort, load, and move scrap metal materials Identify and separate ferrous and non-ferrous metals (preferred) Load trucks, feed processing equipment, and maintain stockpile areas Conduct daily pre-start checks and routine inspections on machinery Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment Report faults, damage, or safety concerns promptly Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and company policies Maintain a clean and organised work environment Work collaboratively with yard staff and management Skills and Experience Essential: Proven experience operating excavators (14T to 45T range preferred) Strong commitment to workplace health and safety Ability to complete daily pre-start checks and basic machine maintenance Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment Desirable: Experience in the metal recycling or scrap metal industry Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials Experience using attachments such as grabs, magnets, and shears Relevant plant operator tickets/licenses Personal Attributes Safety-focused mindset Mechanically minded Team player with a positive attitude Attention to detail Able to work independently when required What We Offer Stable, full-time employment Competitive pay based on experience and knowledge Supportive team environment Central Gold Coast location (Molendinar) Opportunity to work with modern, well-maintained equipment How to Apply If you are a skilled Excavator Operator looking to join a respected Gold Coast recycling business, we would like to hear from you.
