About the role: MATES in Construction is seeking a passionate and people-focused Field Officer to help deliver and grow their evidence-based suicide prevention and mental health programs across the ACT construction industry. Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver MATES suicide prevention and mental health training programs across construction sites throughout Canberra and the ACT Facilitate MATES training and programs to workers and industry groups Build strong working relationships with construction businesses, unions, employee groups and site leaders Maintain regular site visits and support on site volunteer networks Support workers experiencing mental health challenges and connect them with appropriate support services Maintain accurate records, reporting and training data Work collaboratively with internal teams, community partners and support providers Skills, Experience and Qualities required: Previous experience within the construction industry or a strong understanding of how the sector operates Genuine passion for mental health awareness, suicide prevention and community support You are comfortable presenting, facilitating and engaging with groups in workplace environments You have a high degree of emotional intelligence and have the ability to build strong relationships with people from all backgrounds You have the ability to work autonomously, you can manage competing priorities and are adaptable Benefits and Culture: MATES in Construction is known for its supportive, down-to-earth and purpose-driven culture.
