About the role The Director is responsible for driving the Australian Red Cross’s impact, performance, and reputation within the Northern Territory. This role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence to deliver meaningful outcomes with lasting impact. As Director, you will drive strategy execution and oversee local operations, while fostering a high-performing, values-driven culture aligned with the organisation’s strategy and the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. You will empower teams, volunteers, and members to deliver impactful services at scale. A critical ambassador for Australian Red Cross, the Director builds and maintains strong relationships with government, community leaders, partners, and donors to enhance brand presence, advocate for humanitarian priorities, and secure sustainable funding. They also work closely with the NT Divisional Council to strengthen local engagement and connection with members and supporters and represent Australian Red Cross externally. This is a senior leadership role for a strategic, commercially minded and purpose-driven leader with strong stakeholder management, financial acumen, and a passion for community impact. About you To succeed in this role, you will bring extensive senior leadership experience. You are known for inspiring cultural transformation and building high‑performing teams that deliver strong outcomes for clients and/or communities. You bring a contemporary, inclusive approach to stakeholder engagement, with demonstrated experience partnering effectively with stakeholders and ideally communities — including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. You’ll also bring: Well-developed financial management skills and organisational acumen Ability to work under broad direction with a high degree of autonomy and use initiative on a regular basis to advance and execute strategy Demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships with external stakeholders such as peak bodies, Government (State and Local), partner organisations and corporates.
