Your New Company An opportunity is available for an experienced Bookkeeper & Payroll Officer to join a wellestablished and growing organisation based on the Gold Coast. This role will suit a highly organised and detaildriven finance professional who is confident about managing endtoend bookkeeping, payroll, and financial administration within a structured and fastpaced environment. Your New Role Reporting to senior management and working closely with external accountants, you will be responsible for overseeing daytoday finance operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting across the business. Key responsibilities include: Bookkeeping & Financial Administration Data entry and maintenance of accurate financial records Bank and credit card reconciliations Chart of accounts management Data file corrections and system maintenance Weekly financial reporting to management Monthly PAYG and quarterly BAS lodgements Management of ATO payment plans Liaising with external accountants Tracking liabilities including loans and finance agreements Providing ad hoc financial support to management Accounts Payable Processing and verifying supplier invoicesEndofmonth statement reconciliationsSupplier payment runsManaging supplier queries and disputesMonitoring due dates to assist cash flow management Accounts Receivable Invoice processing and managementAllocation of customer payments and receiptsResponding to customer account enquiriesFollowing up overdue and progress paymentsProcessing customer refunds Payroll & HR Administration Endtoend weekly payroll processingTimesheet management and approvalsLeave and entitlement managementSales commissions, bonuses, and reimbursementsTerminations and final paymentsSTP lodgements and yearend reconciliationsSuperannuation processingAward compliance, classifications, and pay ratesPayroll tax registration and reportingWorkCover administrationEmployee onboarding and offboarding, including contracts, TFN and super setupMaintaining HR records, policies, and procedures What youll need to succeed You will be a confident and highly capable finance professional with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.To be successful in this role, you will have: Minimum 5 years experience in a similar bookkeeping and payroll role Extensive experience using Xero Strong working knowledge of BAS, GST, payroll, and Australian accounting standards Excellent organisational and timemanagement skills Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently across all levels What youll get in return This is a longterm opportunity within a wellstructured organisation that values strong systems, clear processes, and a supportive team culture.You can expect: Salary of $100,000 $110,000 super, depending on experienceStable, MondaytoFriday working hoursHybrid working flexibilitySupport from management and external accounting partnersCareer progression opportunities into senior finance or management rolesA professional, collaborative team environment What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV to moanna.yates@hays.com.au or phone: Ph: 0404 305 351.
