About the program AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace. Your responsibilities will include: We are seeking an experienced ILS Training Lead to join our Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) team, supporting a major Defence program. In this role, you will act as the subject matter expert and focal point for all training activities, leading the development and delivery of training solutions for mission and support systems. You’ll work closely with engineering teams, ILS specialists and customers to ensure training is aligned to system design, operational needs and contractual requirements. Key responsibilities Lead the development of ILS Training Plans, artefacts and reports in line with program needs Act as the primary interface for training activities across internal teams and customers Provide SME guidance to ILS teams, engineers and stakeholders on training requirements Coordinate and contribute to training working groups and project activities Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure training aligns with system design and changes Prepare and deliver briefings and recommendations on training solutions Identify and drive continuous improvement in training development and delivery About you: You are an experienced ILS training professional who enjoys taking ownership of training outcomes on complex programs. You’re confident working across teams, translating technical concepts into practical training solutions, and guiding others in best practice approaches. Essential Experience in ILS Training, Training Development or Technical Training within Defence or complex engineering environments Extensive experience of SADL processes and Learning Management Systems Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, structured training material Understanding of configuration and change management principles Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Eligibility to obtain an NV1 security clearance and handle Export Controlled information Desirable Experience across broader ILS disciplines (Maintenance, Logistics Engineering, Supportability) Exposure to Agile environments or digital transformation initiatives Understanding of project delivery frameworks Special Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
