About the program AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace. Your responsibilities will include: The AIR6500 Phase 1 Enabling ICT Team Lead is required to: • Lead the planning, estimating and communication of the Support System ICT development lifecycles. • Lead the day-to-day planning and tasking for the AIR6500 Phase 1 Support System ICT Team. • Lead the lifecycle of AIR6500 Phase 1 Support System functional & non-functional computer system requirements. • Lead the development and delivery of AIR6500 Phase 1 Support System preliminary and detailed computer system designs. • Lead trade studies to select fit for purpose computer systems components and technologies. • Lead the development and delivery of computer systems Bill of Material (BOM) documentation. • Lead the development and delivery of computer systems Installation Data Pack (IDP) documentation. • Lead the development and delivery of computer systems Verification & Validation (V&V) documentation. • Lead all changes to the AIR6500 Phase 1 Support System in accordance with Engineering Change Management. About you: Extensive experience in the development of computer system infrastructure. • Excellent analysis skills with an ability to analyse and develop alternatives to determine best value based on customer driven objectives. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors. • Tertiary qualifications from an accredited institution in a related discipline (typically Information Technology), and/or equivalent experience/combined education. Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CCDE, Network, RHCE etc. are highly regarded. • Demonstrated ability to guide and mentor small teams of computer systems architects. Desirable • Demonstrated experience working within an engineering or project environment (preferably in the defence industry). • Excellent understanding of Configuration Management. • Extensive experience working on Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence. • Extensive experience working with industry-standard architectural frameworks or methodologies, such as Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
