The Role Our client is seeking a technically strong Financial Controller to join a high-performing ASX listed retail business for a 6 month contract role, starting immediately. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead the financial control and reporting function while partnering closely with executive leadership across finance, operations and commercial teams. This is a highly visible role suited to a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced listed environment and enjoys balancing technical accounting excellence with operational leadership. You will be responsible for leading all aspects of financial control, statutory reporting, compliance and audit management across the group. Key responsibilities include: Lead monthly, half-year and year-end financial reporting processes Prepare ASX reporting requirements, annual reports and board reporting packs Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS and ASX listing requirements Manage external audits, tax compliance and regulatory reporting obligations Drive strong internal controls, governance and risk management frameworks Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to improve reporting, systems and processes Support budgeting, forecasting and strategic finance initiatives Assist with finance transformation and continuous improvement projects The Candidate To be successful in this role, you will be a technically capable finance leader with prior experience operating within a listed or highly regulated environment. You will ideally possess: CA/CPA qualification with Big 4 or mid-tier Chartered background preferred Proven Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager experience within an ASX listed environment Strong technical accounting knowledge across IFRS and statutory reporting Experience managing audits, board reporting and external stakeholder relationships Advanced financial systems and ERP capability Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the business Retail, consumer, FMCG or multi-site industry exposure will be highly regarded A proactive, commercially minded and detail-oriented approach Experience using NetSuite advantageous but not essential The Organisation This role offers the chance to join a recognised retail brand with a strong market presence and ambitious growth agenda.
