Position: Child Care Educator (Room Leader) Position Type : Full-Time Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation per annum Location: Glendenning NSW 2761 Our client Child Care Educator (Room Leader) to join their centre in Glendenning, New South Wales. As a Child Care Educator (Room Leader), you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of your assigned room, ensuring all activities are effectively planned, prepared, and organised in line with the centre’s guidelines. You will ensure that all centre policies and procedures are consistently followed at all times. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Be responsible for the day to day management of the rooms and encourage good practice among staff teams regarding individual and/or group work with the children. Regularly supervise staff within the room including identifying any careers development or training needs. Be responsible for the line management in the room. Communicate clearly with parents/carers and encourage them to participate in their child's progress and development. Be responsible for creating a stimulating and attractive classroom environment. Together with the Supervisor & Coordinator, to ensure that all required standards, ratios and conditions of registration are maintained in the room at all times. Help in the organization of and attend parents meetings and open days as required. Ensure that all documentation and records such as Daily Routine Chart & Sleep Chart are recorded appropriately and are kept up to date. Ensure that all assistants and Trainees within the room receive appropriate mentoring and training and to motivate staffs whenever they are dealing with the children. Ensure that the room routine is followed and to always seek consultation or permission to the supervisor or coordinator for any change(s ). Be a good role model to other staff members and inspire to create a high quality care for children. Respect and maintain confidentiality within the setting. Ensure that accurate, detailed and professional handovers occur on a daily basis to parents about their children in the centre. Promote positive relationships and interaction between all adults and children involved in the centre. Liaise with other staff members. Provide children with nutritious and satisfying meals. Ensure that the Daily Book, Curriculum Plan, Project Book, Portfolio and Web Planning are up to date and written, developed and implementation accordance to company Policy. Ensure that the daily and weekly plans are age-appropriate activities and play experiences are implemented on time. Ensure that parent's feedback and other staff members' ideas and suggestions are taken into account when developing a curriculum plan. Coach and motivate Room Assistants in writing the Daily Book and children’s observations. Provide inspiration to the children in all areas of learning incorporating EYLF. Coordinate activities and play experiences especially during outdoor play with the other rooms in your area and evaluate ongoing activities and play experiences. Consultation with the Coordinator, Supervisor & Director, to develop, carry out band evaluate an annual program of activities, suitable for the age range of the children, following the guidelines for the implementation of "Early Years Learning Framework". Ensure that their room is safe, clean and tidy at all times. Act appropriately in an emergency situation in ensuring that the safety and well-being of children is paramount at all times. Ensure that all children are signed in and out every day. Ensure that policy in collection of children are followed appropriately. Ensure that proper procedures are followed appropriately. Ensure that proper procedures are followed when dealing accidents in the centre. Adhere to all company Policies and Procedures including attendance at meetings preparation of reports and any other duties as required. Ensure that Equal Opportunities Policy is adhered at all times. Carry out any other occasional duties as require by the supervisor, director and/or coordinator. Attend courses and disseminate information from these to other staff. Requirements: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience as a Childcare worker Understanding of national regulations and standards (e.g., National Quality Standard, Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations). Ability to lead, motivate and support a team of educators. Designing learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) or relevant curriculum. Effective communication with children, families, and staff Building positive relationships with families and the community.
